ISL Clubs Preview: Bengaluru FC

By Saurabh
11 November 2021

Bengaluru FC, this year we will see a different club in totality, as the foreign contain is complete new, except the last season's retained player Silva. The analysis will be around the club overhauling and how likely it will  impact the teams play. Sunil, Gurpreet, Ashique, Udanta will be the Indian players to guide the new batch.
With Silva should provide the experience and fulfill the gap created by the outgoing of the Miku

COACH AND PREFERRED FORMATION

With vast experience as a coch Marco Pezzaiuoli will be one of the notable coach in the ISL. Marco's preference is 4-3-3 formation. His experience in coaching the German developmental sides will be crucial for the team. Toni Kroos, Ante Rebic etc once played under him. He is also preferring youth side more. This can be seen in the squad itself as we can see a young, youth side with great future.

STRENGTH

Depth in the squad is very much, they have enough players to fill the gap if someone fails to perform well. With the addition of young midfielders and players from the BFC B team who performed exceptionally well in the Durand cup, the team is looking great. Along with experienced players and with 2 foreign strikers, 2 foreign midfielders, 2 foreign center backs, they have covered all the aspects. Also in the Indian players department, it is well sorted too.

They have experienced and reliable Gurpreet as their first choice to guard their post. They have Lara Sharma who will be their second choice..

In defense, Pratik Chaudhari's presence will be a great advantage for them. On left and right flanks they have young and energetic Parag and Sarthak respectively. They also have young players who can create surprises. Their Foreign defence combo will be one of the dangerous combo if they manage to fit in with team. They will provide them the assurance they need from the back.

Last season one of the main problems BFC faced was their Midfield department didn't performed as expected thereby causing problems to the attack too. But this year, they have a pretty well Midfield department in paper. They have a number of midfielders who can help the defence. Jayesh Rana will take up the responsibility what Khabra did. Along with Iman Bisafa opponent attackers will sweat to go past them before they meet the defenders. With Bruno certain to start due to it's multi-role capabilities, and Suresh important contributions things will be tidy with other players.

Attacking players are enough to give every team a pinch of salt, with never losing mentality and fighting spirit, matches will be tidy. They have young and speedy players like Ashique, Udanta who will be nightmare for opposition defenders. Along with experienced Sunil Chhetri and Cleiton Silva. Attack looks a great setup due to valuable experience up front and the young energy, they are surely treat to watch. Addition of Ibara gives them the luxury of height on the crosses and he is young so would provide good addition to the speed of Udanta and Ashique. In that department, I think BFC is way ahead. With multiple players, with multiple role capabilities, this team will not be affected much by the injuries.

WEAKNESS

The team needs to gel well together, if somehow foreigners fail to perform, like last season and it will be a big test for the defence and it will cost them. Also their defensive pair looked shaky in the AFC Cup though did well in the next matches but it surely something they have to work upon. The midfield consists of more than the 5 DMFs including two foreigners, it will be interesting to see that how they will accommodate each and every player. Also, their performance will lie upon how their youngsters perform.

PROBABLE FINISH

The team look settled and if team players gel well, this team will surely add fireworks to the season and we would probably see the BFC as the team known by their rich trophy shelf. So, we can expect atleast a top 4 finish for BFC. They are also one of the serious title contenders of ISL.

By Jeremiah Prince 21 January 2022 India faced against Iran in match number 2 of WAC 2022. Debutants Iran managed to hold down two time runners up India in a goalless draw. This match gave a mixed feeling to Indian fans. It was India's first match in WAC after 19 years. The Indians were high on confidence that they will succeed in getting three points. But with Iran's good defending, they managed to restrict India to a draw. Also their goalkeeper Koodaei performed very well. Now let’s take a deep look into yesterday's match. INDIA'S CHANCES In the initial minutes of the game Iranians made some quick moments and even hit the Indian crossbar. But within 20 minutes Indians were able to settle and control the game. India dominated the game thereafter, and as a result Indian ladies got many chances but they lacked the final touch. Indumati got the first chance in the 24th minute but her half volley flew over the bar. After that Manisha got couple of c

Lot's of Ups and Downs for the Bengaluru FC in the First Half of the League. Here is our review on the Blues performance so far.

By Saurabh 13 January 2022 Bengaluru FC, repeating itself from the previous season. The performance of the team has shown no improvement having lost 4 matches, drawn 4 and won 2. They are currently placed 9th in the points table. We all know that Bengaluru FC from past had always performed well, and because of their performance in 2019-20 season, they had the chance to play in AFC Cup. After major changes, Bengaluru prepared for the league early. All the foreign players left except Cleiton Silva.  They started well with winning two matches to make it to the group stages from the preliminary round. But they lacked coordination which was exploited by the opponents. START OF THE LEAGUE They started on high note as they won 4-2 against Northeast United FC. It was a great start but after that they lost 4 matches and dropped points in rest of the matches due to poor attacking and missed opportunities. CHHETRI AND BFC Whenever Chhetri's name is heard, i

No More a Mid-Table Team! Here is our half-season review on Jamshedpur FC.

By Jeremiah Prince 21 January 2022 Since its inception in 2017, Jamshedpur FC is always a mid-table team. Though they had some good players they weren't able to reach the top 4. But this season, things changed. With good additions and with a good tactician in helm, they are looking very good so far and are now a serious contender for the ISL. Here is an article based on their performance so far.  With 4 Wins, 4 Draws and 2 Loses from 10 matches, Jamshedpur is second placed in league after 10 matches. START OF LEAGUE They retained three of their foreigners, Valskis, Lima and Hartley while leaving out the rest four. They brought in Murray and Eli Sabia from the league and experienced Greg Stewart from Rangers. They also brought some experienced Indians and young talents to bolster their squad.  They started their league with a 1-1 draw against Kolkata Giants, East Bengal. A magnificent victory over last season play-off team, FC Goa which boosted them for their upcoming fi
