Chennaiyin FC was looking great at the start of the league. But after completing half season they are not as in the first matches. Here is our preview on the Marina Machans.

Bozidar Bandovic's Chennaiyin FC started their campaign against strong Hyderabad FC. The Nizams dominated on that match but Chennaiyin FC managed to escape with three points with Koman's penalty goal. After that win, the Marina Machans met against Northeast United where they put a strong performance to clinch a win with a 2-1 score line. They were held to draw for the following two matches
They had a 4 match unbeaten streak which was ended by Des Buckingham's Mumbai City FC with a heart-breaking 1-0 loss. They made a strong comeback against Odisha FC where the match ended with 2-1 victory. The Machans defence looked rock solid until they meet Ivan's Kerala Blasters where they were thrashed by the two time ISL Runners Up in Southern Derby Match by 3-0. This shook the defence of Chennaiyin FC. Next they played against another southern rivals Bengaluru FC where Chennaiyin FC gets a trashing 4-2 loss on that match. Chennaiyin FC was reunited with the Lithuanian Striker Nerijius Valskis from Jamshedpur FC and Mohammad Sajid from Odisha FC in January Transfer Window. In the clash against Jamshedpur FC, CFC managed to win with a 1-0 scoreline. After that win CFC met FC Goa in a heart-breaking moment where they lost by conceding a dying minute goal.

STRENGTH

To an extent, their midfield helps them in getting points. Their Kyrgyz International Mirlan Murzaev and Polish AMF Vladimir Koman is leading their team. Łukasz also came back to be promising in the last few matches. With addition of Nerijus, their attack can also be a threat in the next half. Also, Arial and Thapa is also looking good in the midfield. But they have to work hard to get on to the top 4 of intensifying ISL

WEAKNESS

Bosko's Chennaiyin FC looks like an over defensive team on 3-5-2 formation. The 2 Wingbacks can't manage to take the ball and go for attack. Due to this they pass it to midfield. This forces Thapa and Germanpreet to run and cross the ball on that time which isolates Hungarian Playmaker Koman in central midfield region. Due to this if the ball gets intercepted by opponent’s defence, CFC can't recover the ball in the midfield. If they could recover the ball, opponents start pressing on Koman. Sometimes the midfielders moves in defensive regions which forces the forward to drop down to get the ball to initiate the attack. The absence of Rafael Crivellaro has also affected their performance.

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE

The First January Transfer of Chennaiyin FC was the reunion of Nerijius Valskis who replaced the injured Rafael Crivellaro. The Indian Centre Back Mohammad Sajid is another entry for the CFC. There were rumours of Lallianzuala Chhangte to join Mumbai City FC for the rest of ISL fixtures and ACL 2022 but no confirmations as of yet.

CONCLUSION

Looking at the ISL Points Table we can see that there is a tight competition for the top 4 spots. Chennaiyin FC has to make some changes in their tactics and must start winning the matches from now on. Dropping points will only affect their chances to reach playoffs for the two time ISL Champions.

This match gave a mixed feeling to Indian fans. It was India's first match in WAC after 19 years. The Indians were high on confidence that they will succeed in getting three points. But with Iran's good defending, they managed to restrict India to a draw. Also their goalkeeper Koodaei performed very well. Now let’s take a deep look into yesterday's match. INDIA'S CHANCES In the initial minutes of the game Iranians made some quick moments and even hit the Indian crossbar. But within 20 minutes Indians were able to settle and control the game. India dominated the game thereafter, and as a result Indian ladies got many chances but they lacked the final touch. Indumati got the first chance in the 24th minute but her half volley flew over the bar. After that Manisha got couple of c

Lot's of Ups and Downs for the Bengaluru FC in the First Half of the League. Here is our review on the Blues performance so far.

By Saurabh 13 January 2022 Bengaluru FC, repeating itself from the previous season. The performance of the team has shown no improvement having lost 4 matches, drawn 4 and won 2. They are currently placed 9th in the points table. We all know that Bengaluru FC from past had always performed well, and because of their performance in 2019-20 season, they had the chance to play in AFC Cup. After major changes, Bengaluru prepared for the league early. All the foreign players left except Cleiton Silva.  They started well with winning two matches to make it to the group stages from the preliminary round. But they lacked coordination which was exploited by the opponents. START OF THE LEAGUE They started on high note as they won 4-2 against Northeast United FC. It was a great start but after that they lost 4 matches and dropped points in rest of the matches due to poor attacking and missed opportunities. CHHETRI AND BFC Whenever Chhetri's name is heard, i

No More a Mid-Table Team! Here is our half-season review on Jamshedpur FC.

By Jeremiah Prince 21 January 2022 Since its inception in 2017, Jamshedpur FC is always a mid-table team. Though they had some good players they weren't able to reach the top 4. But this season, things changed. With good additions and with a good tactician in helm, they are looking very good so far and are now a serious contender for the ISL. Here is an article based on their performance so far.  With 4 Wins, 4 Draws and 2 Loses from 10 matches, Jamshedpur is second placed in league after 10 matches. START OF LEAGUE They retained three of their foreigners, Valskis, Lima and Hartley while leaving out the rest four. They brought in Murray and Eli Sabia from the league and experienced Greg Stewart from Rangers. They also brought some experienced Indians and young talents to bolster their squad.  They started their league with a 1-1 draw against Kolkata Giants, East Bengal. A magnificent victory over last season play-off team, FC Goa which boosted them for their upcoming fi
